Round 6 Program Notes

12 May 2018 by James King

Today we celebrate a magnificent milestone with Rodney King running out for his 200th Senior game for the Two Blues! Rodney has been a long time servant of the football club starting his senior career as a 15 year old school boy, alongside good mates Brock Dicker & Chris McDonald! Rodney has stayed loyal to his club by not giving in to the temptation of having a crack at the TSL over his time, where we all know he would have dominated with his fantastic pace and excellent kicking accuracy! All the best for your big day Rod, hopefully the boys can get the four points today!

Penguinfc.com.au now has an online store for your convenience to be able to purchase memberships, merchandise and grab all the latest news and information about what’s happening at the club!

The Demons are in great form at the moment across all four grades and our teams know they must give four quarters of high quality football to get over the line with some wins. Our teams will be eager to do so following our three male teams going down to the Giants in testing conditions last week. The Lady Blues will be looking to make up for last year’s Grand Final loss to the Demons and come away with the four points to keep their unbeaten start to the year. With Tayla Marshall in form with her goal kicking boots on and assisted by the talent of Bethany Taylor the team will be hungry for a win today.

During today’s games we will have Justin Emmerton cooking smoked pork for the evenings teas prior to the Luke Waylon Band kicking off their set for the evening! This is set to be a cracker of a night! Entry is only $10 and we would like to see as many people hang around for the evening!

We are always on the hunt for extra people to volunteer their time and give a hand to lighten the load for many, whether it be in the canteen or putting a couple of hours behind the bar, we would love to have you on board! Please see Brian Lane or Toby Ray if you are able to lend a hand!

Next week we return to Pirtek Park here at the Dial Park precinct with the Wynyard Cats making the trip over. This is guaranteed to be a day with four great games! After the footy, we will be ‘getting shirty’! It returns after many years! These evenings are always popular with the choice of buying a beer shirt or cruiser shirt, that includes mystery drinks and of course water!

Good luck to all teams today!

GO TWO BLUES!
