Round 8 Program Notes

26 May 2018 by James King

It’s great for the coast as NWFL footy returns to the recently heavily renovated West Park Oval today and we are thrilled to be here!

It sure will be a tough job as the Dockers are in superb form following their big win last week. Our boys will have to be focused and play out four full quarters of football.

Our Seniors showed plenty of good signs last week as we were able to match it with Wynyard for three quarters but running out of legs in the last term. The Reserves lads had a great win last weekend and will be looking to justify their great form today and take away the four points. Unfortunately our Lady Blues suffered their second loss for the season last weekend, they have this weekend off and will be resting up for a fortnight before we host the Giants at Pirtek’s Dial Park.

Get Shirty was held last weekend with plenty of laughs and good times that were no doubt followed by a few sore heads on Sunday, it certainly was a good night!

Tonight Nicole will be hosting our Two Blues Enchanted Club Ball back at the clubrooms. Tickets are still available for purchase so please make contact with her to purchase yours for a price of $20pp or $30 per couple! It’s certain to be a great evening!

We are in desperate need of volunteers to help out on game days. If you can spare an hour or so to lend a hand in the canteen or the bar or whether it be helping out on the gate it would be greatly appreciated. Please see Brian Lane or a committee member!

Our Junior Two Blues will hit it out tomorrow here at West Park also. If you haven’t got any plans, pop over and give the kids some support! Our Under 12’s knocked up their first win for the season last weekend and our Junior Girls managed to grab their second win which is absolutely fantastic!

Remember that every Thursday night we have counter teas at the football club. The bar is open from 6PM with tea being served at 7:30PM. At $10 per person, which includes a soft drink, you will not get a better quality meal for such a low price anywhere along the coast! This weeks lamb roast was one of the best ones yet so keep an eye on our Facebook page for this coming Thursday’s meal.

Next weekend we make the trip to East Devonport to take on the Swans. The Swannies were exceptional in our first meeting earlier in the season and we look forward to the challenge again prior to a well deserved weekend off for the long weekend to unwind before returning to Pirtek’s Dial Park for our annual Pink Day games against the Giants!

All the best to all teams today!

GO TWO BLUES!
