Round 10 Program Notes

16 Jun 2018 by James King

Today we arrive back home here at Pirtek Dial Park as we turn pink! All four teams will be trading the hooped two blue socks in exchange for pink ones as today we raise money for breast cancer patients and nurses. Nicole is hosting a ladies high tea luncheon in the clubrooms with several games and activities planned along with guest speakers making appearances! Our Lady Blues will kick off proceedings today with an earlier than normal start at 9:20AM. The girls have had three weeks off and are super excited to be back out on the park!

Congratulations to our very own Lachlan McKellar as he was awarded with the NWFL Sea FM Young Player of the Week award from our Round 9 game against the Swans. Lachlan played a magnificent game and showed plenty of maturity along with confidence all day as he does best! Congratulations Lachlan! We are super stoked with the young talent in our Senior team with the likes of David Scarffe, Liam Viney, Jay Van Essen, Sam Mitchell, Dylan Bramich and of course Lachlan McKellar. These young men aged between 16-18 have been consistent contributers to the team each week and have had many placings in the best players almost each week also! In the Under 18 side and yet to play Senior football are the likes of Ben Callaghan, Jake de Groot, Jordy Smith, Bailey Carter, Harry Cox and AJ Eaton. These boys have some serious talent and it’s only a matter of time before you see them in the 2PM time slot! The future sure is bright for our club as these fellas get games under their belt and continue to develop, stick with us and be patient!

Today the Seniors will be eager to get their season back on track following a very disappointing loss to East Devonport in a seriously tough and physical game where we let a nice lead slip and fall over in the last term. Solid contributors such as Jack Templeton, Toby Skene and Mitch Stanley will be looking to lead the boys to victory but will have to play four quarters of quality footy if they want to taste victory today over the Giants who will again be tough opponents. Rollsy and the Reserves have been in red hot form and they want nothing but the four points today. Daniel Baldock, Brodie Hayes, Randall Hardy and Jared Macdonald were in red hot form against the Swans and no doubt will be in favour for a Senior game today. The Under 18’s will be keen to continue their winning ways today also.

Memberships are available for purchase, please see our bar staff to join up today! We have a large range of merchandise available also, Darren Emmerton or our bar staff will kindly assist you!

After today’s games we will only be left with three home games for the year. We are always after some volunteers to help during home games, whether that be bar duties, canteen or doing some time on the gate! We would love to have you on board! Please see Brian Lane if you can spare some time!

Raffle tickets are available for our annual major raffle, tickets are only $2 each! There is some fantastic prizes on offer. The canteen and bar have tickets available or please see one of our players to purchase yours!
