Round 11 Program Notes

23 Jun 2018 by James King

We arrive here at Latrobe today knowing all four games of footy will be a tough job!

Pink Day last weekend was a successful day yet again. Nicole did a brilliant job organising the day as well as the Ladies High Tea Luncheon in the clubrooms with many funds raised to go to the BCNA and McGrath Foundation. Senior coach Peter Templeton along with Beau Grundy had their heads shaved to raise an extra $250!

Our Lady Blues are coming off a very convincing win over the Giants and will have to bring their best efforts again today if they are to take home the four points over the top of the table Demons! Bethany Taylor last week had a fantastic game with a bag of 6 goals, Tayla Marshall kicked 4 with Nicole Targett kicking 3. Shelby Aitken put on a best on ground effort with great assistance from Nicole Poke and Kirby Randall. Stick around following the Senior men and support our girls!

The Seniors last week put together a great performance to finally get another win on the board. A second half of committed, hungry and good footy got the boys over the line in a convincing 30 point win. Toby Skene again lead the way with a best on ground performance along with Jack Templeton, David Scarffe, Will Huxtable, Sam Mitchell and Sam Mawer who returned to the team after 3 weeks on the sidelines!

The Reserves were unlucky last weekend with an opportunity to win the game which ended up in a draw! They will be eager to get the four points today over a very talented Latrobe Demons outfit! Keenan Slater, Joshua Kaine, Rohan Speglic and Brodie Hayes have been exceptional over the past few weeks and they will be pushing for Senior selection today.

For those that are not aware, Friday night drinks are happening in the clubrooms from 5:30PM each week. It’s a great opportunity to wind down after the working week and have a refreshing ale at the best bar in town. The footy will be on the big projector also – ad free!

Congratulations to Nicole Targett, the lucky winner of the members jackpot! Jackpot is now at $100, you must be there to be eligible for the cash! Nicole took home $550. Thursday’s teas are continuing to be well supported each week with the wonderful Trudi Lane cooking the tastiest meals in town for only $10! You’re mad if you aren’t there!

Wipe all of your Sunday plans tomorrow and get to Pirtek Dial Park as our Juniors take to the field. Get there and have a look at our future talent as they come off the back of some great performances in Smithton last weekend!

Next week we hit the road again to Devonport to take on the Magpies before returning home on July 7 to host the East Devonport Swans in the first week of the split round. This will also coincide with our Sponsors Luncheon as we thank those that support us – without them we simply don’t exist!

All the best to all teams today!

GO TWO BLUES!
